War at Sea Tour
WAR AT SEA TOUR
by Singapore Navy Museum
Join us on this guided bus tour to explore Singapore’s naval defence during World War II and how it has evolved over time.
The tour begins at Johore Battery along Cosford Road, a key coastal defence site during the Japanese Occupation. Learn about the significance of the site before journeying along Changi Beach, which fronts a once important sea route leading to the British Naval Base in Sembawang, a major player in the defence of the Far East. The journey concludes at the Singapore Navy Museum, where participants can view ship models from the wartime period and learn about the development of modern naval warfare.
This tour was curated by Dr John Kwok, a professional historian, and the tour is conducted by Dr Ian Li, a military historian.
